The singing whisper of my piss on porcelain

When an important friendship is pushed beyond breaking point the fallout can be unbearable and it’s the theme that sits behind this one off single by Cymbals Eat Guitars. Produced by Brand New frontman Jesse Lacy, the track is a brutally honest ode to the reasons that Cymbals front man Joeseph D’Agostino and, now former, keyboardist Daniel Baer are no longer friends. His delivery of lines like “Friendship this intense is frightening / You go to the bathroom and come back a different person,” or “You got sick / I tried, but I couldn’t give a shit” hit like an emotional migraine of sharp pains and dull aches and make it one of the most affecting tales of broken friendship you’re ever likely to hear.
